The rumor mill is already spinning in regard to the next class of WWE Hall of Famers. With the 2013 class considered possibly the greatest of all time, the next batch will need some big names to stand up for the 30th anniversary of WrestleMania.
The two potential headliners include the recently reconciled Ultimate Warrior and the entire stable of Degeneration-X. According to reports from Wrestling Observer , though, it's unlikely both would be inducted in the same class.
It's a simple matter of egos. Neither the Ultimate Warrior nor Triple H would want to play second fiddle to the other.
The Ultimate Warrior, one of the most iconic superstars of the late 1980s, recently signed a deal to appear in and do promotion for WWE's latest video game. This is just another chapter in the tumultuous relationship Warrior has held with Vince McMahon and the WWE over the last two decades. Warrior has been one of the most controversial figures in the industry, shooting on other wrestlers and management figures via YouTube videos. He's done nothing to endear himself to the WWE.
Of course, in 2005, it was Vince McMahon who released The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, a DVD that trashed the Warrior, painting him as an unstable and unreliable nut. It's not clear who fired the first shot in this battle, but it was Warrior who agreed to sign on and promote Vince's product.
According to the Wrestling Observer report, either Degeneration-X or the Ultimate Warrior will headline the Hall of Fame class when the WWE heads to New Orleans for WrestleMania XXX. My guess is that it will be Warrior's year, since his relationship with the company appears to be at its best in decades, and rather than waiting another year, WWE will strike while the iron is hot.
