For every action, there is a reaction; for every insult there is a retaliation; and for every explosion, there is a fallout. Divas Champion AJ Lee took hold of a microphone last week and channeled her inner CM Punk, unleashing a tirade that left a patch of scorched earth where the “Total Divas” cast once stood. And now, from the ashes, the targets of her own personal pipe bomb are coming for a little payback in the form of a Fatal 4-Way at Night of Champions.
Leading the charge against the “Black Widow” will be a pair of pink-and-black boots belonging to Natalya, the Hart Dungeon graduate who hasn’t tasted Diva Title glory in several years. Natalya has become one of the breakout stars of E!’s “Total Divas” and already channeled that success into a pair of high profile wins at both SummerSlam and SummerSlam Axxess. With both a world-class training background and more than a little personal stake in the matter, Natalya is as likely as anyone to give AJ her comeuppance …
… Provided she can score the win before Brie Bella. As one half of the self-proclaimed faces of the Divas division, Brie and her sister Nikki have presided over the women’s ranks with the swagger of two lionesses, mastering the red carpet and squared circle with equal ease. Despite a loss to Natalya at SummerSlam, Brie hasn’t let up, conscripting newbie Diva Eva Marie into the Bella Army and growing their ranks by one. Now backed by one of the most visible women in the Divas division, Brie is primed to bring the title back to the Bella family …
… If she can get past Naomi, who has fast become one of the Divas division’s most uniquely athletic and exciting competitors and already contended for the butterfly title. After years of honing her skills, Naomi has already proven herself so much more than one of the gals from Planet Funk, and as her abilities grow with her visibility, it may be her time to finally take flight as Divas Champion. Of course …
… All this is moot if they can’t take the title from the devious Diva who currently holds it. AJ’s clutch on the Divas Championship has been all but unbreakable since she first grasped it in the spring; it’s become such a part of her that she had the date of her victory tattooed on the back of her neck. The Divas’ resident “Black Widow” has fielded a series of tough-as-nails challenges from Kaitlyn and prevailed through all of them, keeping the division’s gilded butterfly firmly caught in her web. It’s been a combination of luck, ruthlessness and the right friends that kept AJ in the game this far, but with The Pink and Black Attack, Twin Magic and Planet Funk’s finest all gunning for her gold, AJ Lee’s luck might finally have run out …
… That said, surviving the fallout is not unheard of, even if the explosion is of your own making.
