Why You Can't Miss Smackdown ? | Sept. 27, 2013

What is The Game’s next play?

Following another WWE.com Exclusive Interview with Michael Cole earlier this week – the latest in a series of attempts to rationalize both his and wife Stephanie McMahon’s controversial leadership decisions since SummerSlam – WWE COO Triple H has scheduled an address to the WWE Universe tonight at the top of SmackDown.

As The Game juggles – for better or for worse – the fates of Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, The Shield, Big Show and a slew of other WWE Superstars, tensions continue to stand at an all-time high throughout the locker room and on social media. With such an unpredictable environment, who can say what The King of Kings might have in store next?
Tune in to SmackDown at 8/7 CT, only on Syfy, to find out!

Can The Showoff Zig Zag back to U.S. gold?

After defeating Dean Ambrose one-on-one just two weeks ago on Raw and pinning him again in an explosive 11-on-3 Handicap Elimination Tag Team Match on Monday, Dolph Ziggler has earned an opportunity to challenge for the United States Title on SmackDown tonight!

A blow to Ambrose would also spell a blow to The Shield as a whole. Translation: WWE Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns will surely do everything in their power to ensure that “justice” tilts in the favor of the reigning titleholder.
However, it is also true that amidst the current volatile climate of WWE, several Superstars have started banding together to help each other counter The Hounds of Justice – including The Showoff. So, is it possible Ziggler could have some unforeseen help as he attempts to reclaim U.S. glory?

Can Del Rio’s rivalry with RVD get any more Extreme?

For some time now, the high-octane, high-flying, sacrifice-your-body offensive style of Rob Van Dam has been on a continuous collision course with the ruthless, ultra-versatile onslaught of World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio – even before the Mexican Champion got himself intentionally disqualified at Night of Champions.

As a matter of fact, the fallout from this intense rivalry has seen both the resurrection of the explosive Van Terminator and brutal back-to-back assaults by Del Rio on his World Title No. 1 contender in the past week alone.
While Del Rio is already slated to face R-Truth tonight, the fact that the reigning champion and his WWE Battleground challenger will be in the same building can only make increased carnage between them extremely probable. The only question will be, which Superstar will lay the SmackDown? Find out tonight, only on Syfy!

Is Wyatt SmackDown’s “New Face of Fear”?

While many would say that the most frightening Superstar in the history of SmackDown is The Undertaker, there is one Superstar that has threatened that institution in recent months. Bray Wyatt is a figure so imposing that he strikes fear in the hearts of the WWE Universe and the locker room alike, even though he is yet to compete in a single Friday night match.

Well, that all changes tonight as the leader of The Wyatt Family will compete in his first-ever SmackDown contest! And the second-longest running episodic show in history might never be the same again.

Payback for Punk?

Lately, it seems that every time CM Punk is ready to get retribution on Paul Heyman, something “wrecks” that opportunity.
Case in point, this past Monday on Raw, Ryback and Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel ambushed The Second City Saint, just when he was about to get his hands on the mad scientist. And it was a counter-assault that ended with Punk being hurled through a table by ”The Big Guy.”
Tonight, Mr. Heyman is once again scheduled to address the WWE Universe. Since WWE.com has learned that Punk is not as severely injured as initially suspected, could The Straight Edge Superstar be there to “greet” him? And if so, will a Ryback rampage be waiting in the shadows? Find out tonight on the blue brand!
