WWE has been actively trying to repackage Drew McIntyre as of late. They would like to break him away from 3MB, despite it at least being camera time for him. The former Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion was believed to be the next big thing years back. He had all the tools the company wanted...then they booked him badly.
WWE feels like the McIntyre slip is mostly on them as they have mostly set him up to fail. Despite this, McIntyre has found ways to impress when given the opportunity and that has been seen by management. So there is a rumored plan for him to get properly repacked into a singles star again. How he is repacked however, is not disclosed at this point.
