Big E. Langston Comments on CM Punk’s Status

It was only a week ago that mum was the word on CM Punk with regards to anyone currently working for the WWE. All of that seemed to change when WWE released an official statement on Punk which was then followed by Vince McMahon himself addressing the issue. The latest current WWE employee to express his thoughts about the voice of the voiceless is WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E. Langston.
Langston’s comments came during a recent Digital Spy interview. He was asked whether or not he would be surprised if Punk returned to WWE before WrestleMania XXX in April.
I think it’d be great. Obviously I’m not really aware of what’s going, but I think there’s a lot of people who desperately want him back, a lot of fans who would be excited to have him back. If that were to be the case, if he did return, I think there’d be a huge buzz around it. I think it would definitely be a positive thing. Like I said, I’m not sure particularly what’s going on, if there’s a chance or even a possibility or if it’s imminent. But I know if he did return there’d be a lot of buzz and a lot of happy fans as well.

I think that the entire WWE Universe shares Langston’s thoughts in regards to how great a Punk return at or before WrestleMania would be. Langston did a great job of answering this question the political correct way. He gave the generic we want him back answer while at the same time keeping the focus on how great it would be for the fans. The other thing that he did was make it clear that he had no real insight on what is happening with Punk. Whether Langston has any inside knowledge or not, he did the smart thing by saying that he doesn’t.

With Elimination Chamber this weekend and the Chicago RAW right around the corner, Punk and WWE are truly on the clock. If WWE manages to make it through the Chicago RAW without Punk WrestleMania might truly be the last real chance that we have to see Punk back anytime soon. Ultimately Punk is what is good for business and all we can do is hope that something can be done to bring him back sooner rather than later.
