It is with a heavy heart that I must report that Jake “The Snake” Roberts has a cancerous tumor behind his knee. Cancer of any kind is a very serious matter, and the fact that Roberts was able to over come such personal adversity, and inner demons but only to receive cancer utterly unfair. He noticed the tumor behind his knee about a month ago, and smartly went to the doctors to have it checked out.

Results came back positive, and the size of the tumor is growing substantially as it remains within  his body. Due to the urgency of the matter he will be going into surgery on the Tuesday morning, and hopefully it will be a success. Roberts is undaunted by the tumor, and told TMZ that, “If the devil can’t defeat me, cancer doesn’t stand a chance in hell! Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease ’cause The Snake will be just fine.”

In fact Roberts plans on return to Jersey Championship Wrestling on March 14th regardless if the cancer removal is a success or not. The man is also hell bent on making sure he attends the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in New Orleans by stating that nothing will stop him from attending the event, and getting his Hall of Fame ring.

It pains me to know that after everything that Roberts has gone through over the years that he ends up with cancer. Muscular cancer is a cancer that can have a very low survival rate if it spreads throughout his body. If a child has that kind of cancer then the survival rate is between twenty to forty percent. It is even lower for adults, and it’s a very scary cancer to have.

Hopefully Jake “The Snake” Roberts has caught the tumor in a timely manner, and that his doctors are able to successfully, and fully remove the cancer from his body.  All we can do is hope, pray and wish that he makes a full recovery. With all that the man has been through already in life we all can take solace in the fact that he has the potential to overcome this cancer, and live for many more years to come.
