Former WWE Superstar Adam Copeland better known as Edge, was recently interviewed by Renee Young. The interview was part of the WWE 30 Years of WrestleMania podcast
series. The interview covered a variety of things spanning from
Edge’s new baby girl (with Beth Phoenix) to his fondest WrestleMania
moments. One of the more interesting things that came out of the
interview was the question of who he would want to face if he were able
to have one more match at WrestleMania.
It has been well-documented that Edge and Christian are real-life best friends in the form of Adam Copeland and Jason Reso. The bond and friendship that they share is evident in the fact that Edge would choose to face Christian over the likes of Austin, Rock and Michaels. An Edge/Christian match on the grandest stage of them all is sure to be something that would reek of awesomeness. After hearing this interview, Edge and Christian fans alike should all be hoping that something changes and were are able to see one more match.
I mean Christian at WrestleMania. Just a straight up wrestling match, just lets us go. So that and he would be first and my choice of all time. I never had the chance to get in a ring that was seen by people with Bret Hart, so that would be another one. Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels I think at WrestleMania. Those are the guys that on that stage it’d be fun to get in there with, oh and The Rock too, that would be pretty amazing. Those would be the guys that you would think of on that stage. But if I had too and it was look you only have one more who would it be … Christian.Edge made it clear earlier in the interview that a return to the ring isn’t in the cards. Given the extent of his injuries and his current physical condition, it was revealed that he would never be cleared by WWE doctors to perform again. It was during this portion of the interview that he stressed that retiring wasn’t a choice that he made. Retiring was instead something that was a foregone conclusion given his physical condition.
