MVP Supports CM Punk’s Decision To Leave WWE

Ring Rust Radio recently had an interesting interview with MVP.  MVP spoke about deciding between WWE and TNA, Japan affecting his in-ring style, being a veteran in TNA, and most notably giving his support to CM Punk in regards to his leaving of WWE. Many whom have worked for the WWE have stated that CM Punk made the wrong decision leaving because he’d be missing out on a major payday in the WWE. It seems MVP is of the minority that supports CM Punk Decision.
Here’s what he told Ring Rust Radio:
Let’s look at it this way. I had a year left in my deal and I asked for a release. I was ready to go. So, would I support? Absolutely, because you have to remember it is a business. In the case of the WWE: great product and powerful company, and they gave me the opportunity to do all that I have done so far for which I will be forever grateful. They’ve almost got a monopoly. They can do pretty much whatever they want. As a fan on the outside looking in, all you know is ‘hey, that’s the guy I want to see every week’ and not the intricacies of what goes on behind the scenes.
MVP was one of the few who requested his release from the WWE to pursue a different course in his Pro-Wrestling career. He understands the politics that occurs with the company, WWE’s creative team and the grueling schedule that weighs down upon a pro-wrestler’s body. He also understands that not everything in life has to be decided due to monetary reasons.
WWE pays their employers and WWE Superstars very well which is stating the obvious. CM Punk without a doubt made his millions but was one of the smart individuals to make sure he was set for life with financially securing his funds. He could make more money but he doesn’t need more money. It’s clearly known now that CM Punk will do what will be physically, emotionally and spiritually best for him.
