With less than 4 weeks to go before Wrestlemania, the matches for the biggest event of the year are beginning to take shape. Many matches have been rumoured, and the direction of the Shield has taken multiple directions. Rumours to split them up in time for the big event have been suggested, as well as continuing the feud with the Wyatts.
The latest Wrestling Newsletter article claims the The Shield will not break up like it has been teased recently, instead they will team up against Kane and The Wyatts (Luke Harper and Eric Rowan). at Wrestlemania 30.
Based upon recent developments with The Shield on TV, this is a very different from the original plan to break the Shield up and have a triple threat match at Wrestlemania, with the plan of having Reigns break out as a singles star at Wrestlemania. Seth Rollin’s walked out of the Shields match, indicating the first proper break down between the unit.
This new direction doesn’t make too much sense. Teaming Kane up with Harper and Rowan doesn’t add up and appears to be thrown out of nowhere. Especially since The Wyatt’s had issues with Kane the past summer. They can easily use a breakdown between the authority and the Shield as a starting point.
Despite that it does seem a smart move to continue the engaging feud between the Wyatts and The Shield, with Bray Wyatt facing John Cena at Wrestlemania, the Wyatts would need a tag partner to team up with, until Bray has finished with feud with Cena. It is likely that there will be a final 6 man tag rematch between The Shield and The Wyatts at Extreme Rules.
The six man match between The Shield and The Wyatts at Elimination Chamber and again on Raw in Chicago, were truly epic matches. Both matches received incredible crowd reactions, to have a “this is awesome” chant happen before the match even starts is saying something. Adding Kane will give a very unique spin on the match, and no doubt will deliver at Wrestlemania. This has been by far the hottest faction feud in a long time and it won’t stop anytime soon.
