I’m afraid there’s some bad news for “King” Barrett fans. Apparently
the former Intercontinental Champion plans to part ways with WWE. Pro
Wrestling Sheet is reporting Barrett has told the company he’s not
re-signing when his current deal expires in a few months.
Barrett signed with WWE after winning the first season of NXT in 2010. He’s seen highs and lows in his career, after a high profile feud with John Cena early in his tenure. He led both Nexus and the Corre factions and is a member now of the League of Nations.
The 35 year old has held the IC title five times and is the current King of the Ring. Barrett has a history in bare-knuckle boxing. He also has a degree in marine biology.
