WWE heavyweight champion Roman Reigns is aware that the most of the
fans are against him being the champion but knows that it comes with the
territory.
He has lived it since last year, hearing the boos and the jeers both at events and especially in social media. His seemingly perfect persona in matches is seen as one of the reasons, plus the fact that outcomes are easily predictable.
In short, the blame game doesn't really fall on Reigns alone. The WWE has been criticized for such but as far as Reigns is concerned, he will simply go out there and perform for the select fans who continue to support him.
Reigns has found the going tough ever since embarking on singles competition. Compared to the progress of his former "Shield" teammates Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, he finds himself struggling due to his monstrous and perfect character.
Right now, he is staying in neutral ground. He is not a face or a heel as witnessed at WWE Raw but knows things won't get any easier as he moves forward.
Speaking of forward, what if he one day reunites with Rollins and Ambrose to relive their "Shield" days?
Reigns is open to the idea (via Blogtalkradio.com) though he admits that seeing that happen will not be any time soon. He was the quarterback of that triumvirate before going separate ways and would love to do it again if he ever gets the chance to compete alongside "The Architect" and "The Lunatic Fringe."
For the Big Dog, "The Shield" was and will always be something special to him. It was his ride up in the WWE ranks and obviously that accounts for his early beginnings.
Right now, it is about going out and performing while also ignoring the jeers thrown at him. Things won't be easy for Reigns but he knows he has a job to do for his company – the WWE.
