Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has died after a lengthy bout with stomach cancer. He was 73.
Snuka's wife, Carol, announced in August 2015 that her husband had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. He underwent surgery to remove lymph nodes as well as part of his stomach.
The very next month, on September 1, 2015, Snuka was charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in connection with the May 1983 death of his then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino. After he was arrested, Snuka's attorney, William Moore stated his client had dementia and was unfit for trial.
In July 2016, Snuka, on behalf of his wife, joined a class action action lawsuit against WWE that wrestlers incurred "long term neurological injuries" and that the company "routinely failed to care" for them and "fraudulently misrepresented and concealed" the nature and extent of those injuries. The suit is being litigated by attorney Konstantine Kyros, who has been involved in a number of other lawsuits against WWE.

Snuka is best known for his work in WWE in the early to mid-1980s where he is credited for introducing the high-flying style of wrestling to the promotion. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.
