Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy have officially been offered new WWE contracts, according to Pro Wrestling Sheets.
The Hardy Boyz who are currently ROH tag Champions have both been hot favorites to return to WWE since their departure from Impact Wrestling a few weeks ago. The Brothers are currently embroiled in a legal battle with Impact Wrestling over the use of Matt Hardy's "broken" gimmick and name.
Impact Wrestling believe other parties were involved in coming up with the character and thus they own the right to the gimmick and should get a cut if The Hardys use it elsewhere, the Hardys don't agree.
If Matt and Jeff return to WWE, which is looking highly likely at this stage they may revert to their original WWE gimmicks or be forced come up with something new until the legal issues with Impact Wrestling are resolved.
