THE EVOLUTION BEGINS
December 14, 2003 : Son of the legendary “Cowboy” Bob Orton, Randy makes his fresh-faced debut in 2002, but quickly earns the ire of the WWE Universe. He is tagged as the future of the wrestling business by Triple H, and as a member of Evolution, Randy makes his first big splash capturing the Intercontinental Championship at Armageddon. He goes on to be the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in seven years.
April 18, 2004 : Orton’s rivalry with Mick Foley escalates after The Hardcore Legend performs referee duties for Orton’s Intercontinental Championship win. They eliminate each other in 2004’s Royal Rumble Match, and The Legend Killer pins Foley in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match at WrestleMania XX. But Orton finally “kills” The Hardcore Legend in a brutal No Holds Barred Match for the Intercontinental Title at Backlash.
THE FUTURE IS NOW
August 15, 2004
At SummerSlam, Orton proves Evolution’s prophecy true when he wins the World Heavyweight Championship, and becomes the youngest World Champion in WWE history. He later demonstrates this victory is no fluke, and it becomes the first of multiple championship reigns. Evolution has indeed occurred, and Orton’s time has come.
THE FACE OF DESTINY
August 23, 2004
One night after winning the World Heavyweight Championship, Evolution’s celebration for Orton turned into nothing more than a display of Triple H’s obsession with being champion. Orton was given the symbolic “thumbs down,” and was brutalized by The Game and his cohorts. The following week, the young champion officially refuses to hand over the title and spits in the face of his former mentor.
DEAD MAN WALKING
April 3, 2005
The Legend Killer leaves a path of destruction in his wake including Harley Race, Sgt. Slaughter, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Next, Orton sets his sights on the one legendary competitor on the roster he has yet to defeat, The Undertaker. Although unsuccessful at WrestleMania 21, he becomes the first Superstar to take The Phenom to his limit. He finally gains retribution by defeating The Deadman at SummerSlam.
GAINING AN EDGe
December 18, 2005
At Cyber Sunday, the newly formed duo of Rated-RKO hands D-Generation X their first loss since being reunited and subsequently wins the World Tag Team Championship. The following month on Raw, Orton and Edge dominate DX like no Superstars have before, including a double-RKO and multiple Con-Chair-Tos, leaving Shawn Michaels and Triple H beaten and bloodied.
DOUBLE DUTY
October 7, 2007
As Orton morphs into The Viper, he engages in a bitter rivalry with John Cena, and the two are set to compete for the WWE Championship at No Mercy. However, Cena is forced to forfeit the title due to injury, giving The Viper his first-ever WWE Championship. Orton promptly loses the coveted possession to Triple H, but regains the title in a Last Man Standing Match to become a two-time WWE Champion all in one night.
ONE-MAN DYNASTY
March 30, 2008
Having defended his WWE Championship against all comers, Orton takes his six-month reign into the main event of WrestleMania XXIV. The deck is stacked against him in a Triple Threat Match that includes fan favorites John Cena and Triple H. The WWE Universe is convinced a new WWE Champion will be crowned, but The Viper stuns his critics, and emerges victorious. We are living in The Age of Orton.
THE VIPER COILS
January 19, 2009
One week before the Royal Rumble, Orton is chastised in the ring by Mr. McMahon for his treatment toward his daughter, Stephanie. The Chairman prepares to fire him, but before he can utter those two infamous words, The Viper loses his cool, slaps the microphone into his face, and punts Mr. McMahon in the skull. This whirlwind turn of events is revealed to be Orton’s onset of Intermittent Explosive Disorder.
LEGACY'S ROYAL VICTORY
January 25, 2009
Orton auditions several next generation Superstars to form The Legacy, settling on Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Flanked by his new cohorts, Orton enters the 2009 Royal Rumble Match. The Legacy collectively eliminates Kane and The Viper disposes of Big Show before Triple H tosses both of Orton’s allies. Despite losing his protection, Orton eliminates The Game to advance to the main event of WrestleMania.
KISS OF DEATH
March 23, 2009
Following months of confrontations with the McMahon family, Orton finally draws the wrath of his former mentor, Triple H. Two weeks before their encounter at WrestleMania, Orton brutalizes The Game and handcuffs him to the top rope, drawing out Stephanie, who runs to the ring to stop the carnage. The Viper catches her with a DDT, then Triple H is forced to watch as the sadistic Orton slowly kisses his wife’s face.
THE APEX PREDATOR
March 28, 2010
After Cody Rhodes costs Orton an opportunity to regain the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, Orton attacks both Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. The tension intensifies over the following months as Rhodes and DiBiase unite against Orton. In a Triple Threat Match between the longtime Legacy stablemates at WrestleMania, egos collide and Orton prevails to earn the respect of the WWE Universe.
TAKING THE REIGNS
May 6, 2011
Soon after being drafted to SmackDown, The Apex Predator returns to Friday nights in stunning fashion. In only his second week on the roster, The Viper is chosen by Teddy Long to face Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship, who won the title only five days prior. Orton pins Captain Charisma to become SmackDown’s new leader and battles the smarmy Christian over the next several months.
This isn’t Everything Go Down for More…
Randy made his wrestling debut in 2000 at the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling (MMWA-SICW) in St. Louis, Missouri before being signed signed to a developmental contract with WWE sending him to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).
In April of 2002, he made his official WWE television debut taking on Hardcore Holly in a match on Smackdown. Later that year he was moved to Raw brand but within a few weeks he was sidelined with a shoulder injury. He continued making regular appearances on WWE television, going as far as attacking targeted Superstars with his crutches and giving fans constant updates on his medical progress — whether they wanted them or not with his infamous “RNN News” bulletins. Returning to active competition in May 2003, Orton was instantly recruited by Triple H to join with the legendary “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, and the Animal Batista as part of Evolution. Orton captured his first major championship on Dec. 14, 2003, defeating Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Championship at Armageddon. He held on to the championship for an impressive seven months.Priding himself as “The Legend Killer,’’ Orton has finished off the likes of Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter, Jake “the Snake” Roberts and hardcore legend Mick Foley. Orton also displays no fear and no respect when confronting legends such as Harley Race, asserting his claim as the true legend of sports-entertainment.
In August of 2004, Randy defeated World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit at SummerSlam to become the youngest person ever to hold a title in WWE history at the age of 24. The very next night, Triple H arranged a vicious beating for his former stablemate and banished him from Evolution. Independence, however, only made Orton stronger and bolder. When Triple H threatened Orton and demanded that he “hand over” the World Heavyweight Championship, Orton just spit in his face. He then went on to “kill” one of the greatest legends of them all: 16-time world champion (and his former mentor) Ric Flair in a fan-selected Steel Cage Match later that year at Taboo Tuesday. The next year, Randy did something not many superstars dare to, challenge the legendary Undertaker at WrestleMania. Orton gave it everything he had, including some help from his father, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Deadman from going 13-0 at the biggest event of the year.He was put on the shelf with a shoulder injury suffered during his WrestleMania match and wasn’t seen again until he was drafted to SmackDown in the 2005 Draft Lottery, where he continued what would be a 9-month feud with the Undertaker.
In the following years, Randy took on the likes of Rey Mysterio, formed the infamous RatedRKO with Edge to taken Triple H & Shawn Michaels in the reformed team of DX and defeated Jeff Hardy to retain his WWE Title. However, in a title match with Triple H at One Night Stand he broke his collarbone and was sidelined once again. To make matters worse, just before he was set to return from his injury, Randy was in a minor motorcycle accident which kept him out for just a bit longer. He made an unexpected return to Raw at the beginning of September ’08, criticizing all of the champions on the brand. Tag team champions at the time, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase took exception to this and tried to gain his respect.Unsuccessful until the pay-per-view event Unforgiven, the three of them, alongside new recruit Manu, assaulted World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, costing him his title. Shortly after his official return to the ring in November, losing to CM Punk (after a disqualification) Randy formed a stable known as Legacy. They dominated the RAW brand throughout 2009 and part of 2010 before imploding in what would turn into a triple threat match between Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase & Randy at WrestleMania 26, with Randy turning up victorious. The rest of 2010 saw feuds with the likes of Sheamus, Wade Barrett & The Miz along with both title wins & losses. Culminating in a feud with CM Punk late in the year and going on to defeat Punk at WrestleMania 27.
In April of 2011, after nearly 5 years Randy was drafted to the Smackdown brand to become Only Five Day Later the World Champion . So what else is in store for the 9 time world champion & 3rd generation superstar? Only time will tell

the RKO
What is the RKO ?
The RKO is a Variation on the Diamond Cutter, a move made famous by Diamond Dallas Page and the Stone Cold Stunner, a move made famous by Stone Cold Steve Austin. The move was first introduced in the 1980′s by Johnny Ace who called it the “Ace Crusher”.
What Does RKO Stands For ?
“Three or four years ago, when I first came up with it, Vince told me he wanted a name for it by the end of the day. RKO are my initials. What can I say– I was pressed for time!” – Randy told WWE Magazine, December 2006. Randy’s entire name is Randal Keith Orton, meaning the K stands for Keith.
Famously Used To …
Propel Orton into the record books as the youngest World Champion in WWE history by defeating Chris Benoit at SummerSlam in 2004.
How Did He Learned It ?
“I had a good vertical leap, so I figured I’d incorporate that into my move. The first night I planned on using it, I broke my foot. So during my time off from the ring, I watched Diamond Dallas Page and Johnny Ace tapes to learn how to fine tune it. When I first used it during a match, I had never practiced it before.” – Randy told WWE Magazine, December 2006.
Why This Move above all Others ?
“I wanted to pick something I could do to everybody, no matter how big they were. I can do the RKO to Big Show or Rey Mysterio–Size doesn’t matter.” – Randy told WWE Magazine, December 2006.
Also Known as the Elevated Cutter !
With an opponent placed on an elevated surface, a wrestler applies a three-quarter facelock and then draws the opponent away from the ropes/turnbuckle leaving the opponent’s feet over the ropes, making them the only thing, other than the wrestler keeping the opponent off the ground. The wrestler next falls backwards so that the opponent is forced to dive forward onto the top of his/her head due to the angle of which they are dropped.
it Targets These Areas …
A slight variation on this sees the wrestler run forward while still applying the three-quarters face lock, pulling the opponent off the ropes before dropping backwards down to the mat to force the opponent down for a cutter from a raised height.
“VOICES” – performed by Rev Theory feat. Rich Luzzi
This theme debuted on the May 12, 2008 edition of Monday Night RAW, and still currently being used.
Song Lyrics
I hear voices in my head
They council me
They understand
They tell me things that I will do
They show me things I’ll do to you
They talk to me, they talk to me
I hear voices in my head
They council me
They understand
They tell me things that I will do
They show me things I’ll do to you
They talk to me, they talk to me
You got your rules and your religion
All designed to keep you safe
But when rules start getting broken
You start questioning your faith
I have a voice that is my savior
Hates to love and loves to hate
I have the voice that has the knowledge
And the power to rule your fate
All designed to keep you safe
But when rules start getting broken
You start questioning your faith
I have a voice that is my savior
Hates to love and loves to hate
I have the voice that has the knowledge
And the power to rule your fate
I hear voices crying
I see heroes dying
I taste the blood that’s drying
I feel the tension rising
I see heroes dying
I taste the blood that’s drying
I feel the tension rising
Chorus
All the lawyers are defenseless
All the doctors are disease
And the preachers all are sinners
And the police just take the grease
All you judges you are guilty
All the bosses I will fire
All you bankers will have losses
And politicians are all liars
All the doctors are disease
And the preachers all are sinners
And the police just take the grease
All you judges you are guilty
All the bosses I will fire
All you bankers will have losses
And politicians are all liars
I see darkness falling
I hear voices calling
I feel justice crawling
I see faith has fallen
I hear voices calling
I feel justice crawling
I see faith has fallen
Chorus
