In a note of significance from this week’s Smackdown taping, The Shield suffered their first clean loss on WWE television as a trio in a match that will air on Friday night’s broadcast. The match, which saw Randy Orton pair with Team Hell to oppose The Shield, ended when Daniel Bryan made Seth Rollins submit in the no lock.

Lilian Garcia announced this was the first time The Shield had lost a 6-man tag match. While they have lost via disqualification on television (to Cena, Ryback, & Sheamus on 3/4 Raw and to Team Hell No & John Cena on 5/13 Raw) and clean in a dark match following the April 23, 2013 Smackdown taping to Triple H & The New Age Outlaws, it is their first clean loss on television.
