He said that Ziggler was "an amazing young talent". He said that he was in the ring with him, taking elbow shots to the chest. He remembered jokingly thinking, "this guy's trying to kill me". He went back to his chair, and collapsed soon after due to the heart attack. He spoke to his cardiologist about it, who told him, "absolutely, the trauma to your chest from those elbows could have been hard enough to knock your heart out of rhythm,'" Lawler said. "It would start slowly, and then get more and more and more out of rhythm until it just seized up."
While he says this jokingly and in no way blames Ziggler for it, this is interesting to note. However, had he known he had a heart issue, he would have never been in there to take the elbow shots in the first place.
He mentioned that he's feeling 100% now and wants to talk to Vince McMahon about having another match on RAW. Rumor has it that Vince claimed he'd never allow him to wrestle in WWE again, but we shall see
