WWE taped this week’s WWE Smackdown tonight from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Below are full results:
WWE Smackdown (Airing on SyFy):
* The Big Show opens the show with a promo. He apologizes for not doing what was asked of him on Raw. Triple H interrupts and, noting that Big Show is broke, suspends him for the night without pay. The Shield comes out and attacks Big Show. Big Show fends them off at first, but Roman Reigns hits him with a chair and The Shield takes control, finishing the attack with a triple powerbomb.
* Layla, Alicia Fox & Aksana b. Natalya, Naomi & Brie Bella by disqualification after AJ Lee interfered. After the match, a brawl breaks out between all of the Divas.
* R-Truth & Fandango meet in the ring for a dance contest. The Miz interrupts, wearing a fake afro, and enters himself into the contest. The Great Khali comes out and enters as well. The Miz wins the contest, which causes Fandango to complain about the other competitors being a disgrace to the art of dance. Fandango then gets sent out of the ring.
* Natalya, Naomi & Brie Bella attack AJ Lee in what appears to be a reshoot of the prior brawl.
* Backstage, Ryback introduces a local wrestler. The local wrestler says he wants a chance to get into the ring with Ryback. Ryback slaps him and says he dreams about beating up people like him.
* Backstage, Vickie Guerrero announces that Ricardo Rodriguez will not be in Rob Van Dam’s corner at Night of Champions, due to concerns about his safety. She makes Ricardo vs. Alberto Del Rio official for later tonight.
* Santino Marella b. Damien Sandow. Prior to the match, Damien Sandow cut a promo berating the live crowd.
* Michael Cole interviews Curtis Axel & Paul Heyman. Axel says that CM Punk won’t even get to Heyman, because Punk can’t beat Axel. Heyman says he’s a peaceful man, and calls for a boycott of the match. Heyman says if the WWE Universe buys the pay-per-view, they’ll end up seeing CM Punk slaughter Heyman. Heyman says that it may be the last time we see him. Heyman closes by saying that he will always love Punk.
* Alberto Del Rio b. Ricardo Rodriguez. After the match, Del Rio locks in the Cross Armbreaker but Rob Van Dam runs out to make the save. RVD hits a Five-Star Frog Splash on Del Rio and celebrates with the title.
* Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler ended when The Shield interfered, attacking Ziggler. The Usos made the save, and Vickie Guerrero turned the match into a 6-man tag.
* The Shield b. Dolph Ziggler & The Usos
* The ring is set up for an edition of The Cutting Edge. Edge makes his way to the ring to a great reception from the crowd. Edge starts by telling Christian to get revenge on The Shield upon his return. Randy Orton comes out to the ring, followed by Daniel Bryan. Edge calls Orton a sell-out. Orton says that Edge is jealous of his continued success. Edge notes that he is an 11-time world champion. Bryan says his dream was to be WWE Champion, and says he’ll beat Orton at Night of Champions. Orton attacks Bryan, but Bryan fights back and applies the Yes Lock. Orton taps out and Bryan chants “Yes” with the crowd to end the show.
