As you might have seen, WWE announced that John Cena will be returning at Hell in a Cell to take on Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. We have been reporting for weeks that Cena would be back this month due to the Breast Cancer Campaign. However, no one saw Cena coming back for a match so quickly. We reported that Cena would be able to get in the ring by November. Which is close to the time HIAC takes place. But we also reported that there was little chance he would be doing so this quick.
What we're hearing is that Cena is coming back for this match, and could be leaving for another few months after. The current idea is to have Damian Sandow cash in on the winner of the match. It's said that Cena could win, get "injured" due to the match (seeing as Del Rio's finisher could, in turn, hurt Cena's "bad arm" more). Then Sandow of course would become World Heavyweight Champion exploiting the arm, of which he also has a submission for.
From medical professionals I've spoken with, they feel it's a mistake for Cena to get in the ring so quickly due to his major need for rest on his body. But due to low TV ratings, WWE is pulling out everything they have to get more viewership. The match could, in turn, be okay for him to do if he leaves for a few more months then returns in January. Right now though, Cena is a huge part of the WWE Breast Cancer Campaign and he's a proven draw. So Cena being back for this month is understandable from a business perspective.
