WWE have sent a statement to PWInsider in regards to Sin Cara and the rumours surrounding his release.
"The original performer behind the
Sin Cara mask remains under contract to WWE. WWE will continue to invest
in the character and retain it as part of WWE programming."
WWE are said to have the option to extend Sin Cara's contract in January, when his contract runs out.
To clarify, the original Sin Cara (Mistico) is the person in question. Sin Cara from Monday's Raw (Hunico) will continue playing the Sin Cara character for the short term.
