Bully Ray posted the following to his twitter account last night, indicating a possible jump to WWE:
“After hearing #ChicagoRaw crowd tonight has helped me make an important career decision@IMPACTWRESTLING. Stay tuned.”
There has been a lot of stress on the morale of the TNA locker room as of late, with reports claiming the company is asking many of their talent to take pay cuts to save money. This is one of main reasons that many of their talent, including former company man AJ Styles, have left the company. Bully Ray has been one of TNA’s top guys for a while now, is it possible that the pay cuts and low morale have finally reached the former TNA Heavyweight Champion? Bully Ray’s partner, Devon, left the company last year. He had this to say about TNA and why he left.
I think every company has growing pains. I think TNA is going through that growing pains. [Regarding] my departure from the company, to me it was just time to leave and I have no regrets. I’m very happy with the decision that I have made. I look forward to bigger and better things. [I'm] not saying that TNA wasn’t a good thing, it’s just that everything runs its course … it was time for me to move on. If you’re in a company for too long … ideas and things like that don’t necessarily register. You’re always fighting, trying to get them to understand you and vice versa … In terms of [TNA] being a family, it all depends on who you ask. I experienced good times there. I’ve also experienced bad times … This past August, I did not want to be there. I was ready to move on to the next chapter of my life. I’m not going to say it’s dysfunctional. I just think that it’s growing pains.. I wish them nothing but the best. I miss them dearly, but not enough to go back.
Devon’s opinion seems to match that of many others, that TNA is just not a stable environment. Wrestlers are frustrated, and this tweet from Bully Ray indicates he may also be among the frustrated talent. But, to take a step back, he did tag Impact Wrestling in the tweet, so this could just mean he wants a TNA show to run up north again. It’s very easy to misinterpret this, as i’m sure he intended.
